India, the New India as claimed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not much favourable for the Muslims as it had been for so long. For the last 5-6 years after the right wing Hindu Nationalist Party BJP has come to power, Muslims in India are facing different challenges, undergoing different tortures, physical attacks, mob lynching from the right wing Hindu organisations, their workers as well as the Govt. across the country. Their rights reserved by the Constitution specifically on the religious, social, political grounds have been attacked vigorously and constantly. Adding to this, the state government officials of Uttar Pradesh Police have banned Namaz, the Muslim prayer on roads across the state when Hindus can make large gatherings on their festivals like Dasshera, Durga Puja, Rath Yatra, Ganesh Chaturthi etc. where people use drums, DJs, sound systems, whistle etc.
"On special occasions, when large crowd gathers for offering prayers on festivals, it could be allowed by the district administration, but this practice will not be allowed as a routine during every Friday prayer," Director General of Police (DGP) O.P. Singh said.
Hindu outfits, in retaliation against the practice, had started reciting 'Hanuman Chalisa' on roads in several districts on Tuesdays and Saturdays which was gradually paving the way for a confrontation between two communities.
